What a difficult cook this was. We drove The Rub Boat and trailer all the way up hwy 29 through Napa Valley - switchback mountain roads and 4 hours later we arrive.

Then come Saturday morning, Noname was being an ornery bitch! We suffered extended periods of low temp and that really killed our rib product. Still I have none to blame for that but myself - so long as I learn my lesson well.

Results out of 36 teams

  • Chicken -19th place
  • Ribs - 20th place
  • Pork  - 12th place
  • Brisket - 19th place
  • Overall - 17th place
  • Total contestants - 36

I'd rather forget this one happened, but we did collect some good data - expensive data, but good data.

We did have the pleasure and honor of meeting and cooking next to one of the big dogs of competition BBQ - Jerry King of Midland Texas - cool dude.
