Seasoning a Backwoods Smoker

New Backwoods owners take note - you will need to burn off the manufacturing stuff real good before using it to cook your favorite bbq stuff! I read somewhere - or on some forum that a brand new cooker produces smells you never want to smell again. I can confirm this to be true.

Don't get me wrong, these are complicated peices of equipment, and there's plenty of manufacturing thet goes into making them. Plenty of manufacturing means plenty of residual oils and coatings. There's norhing wrong with that, but these things need to be burned off right away.
